Abstract

Conflicts of interest are explored using the metaphor of a 'blindspot'. This address to the the Leo Cussen's Institute focuses on conflicts of interest beyond the relationship of lawyers to their clients. The social and civic implications of Solomon's reinterpretation of Aristotle' s Virtue Ethics are considered as a way to promote ethical legal practice in a pluralistic and secular society, such as Australia.
